Having a car with air conditioning can be a real advantage in the summer months, so it’s important to ensure that your system is working efficiently.
It’s recommended that your air-con system is recharged with gas and lubricant every two years. This is also a good opportunity for a mechanic to ensure all components are working correctly, guaranteeing fuel efficiency. If an air-conditioning system is not recharged every couple of years, it will be less effective and have to work harder, putting greater strain on the engine and eating up more fuel, costing you money.
During a standard air-con service, we recharge the refrigerant to the required levels, add fresh system oil, check the operation of the air conditioning system, test for temperature and leaks, and expel air and moisture from system. We can also include an anti-bacterial clean to clear bacterial build up from within the system and on the vents, which will eliminate any nasty odours that can sometimes be released.
